Role & responsibilities

Scope:

Job Responsibilities:

1. Handover to be given/taken to / from next /previous Medical Officer respectively.

2. For all new patients admitted in wards history taking and examination to be done immediately.

3. Assessment and Re assessment of every patient in each shift and documenting the same.

4. Patient identification to be done. MOs should introduce himself/herself when he/she meets the patient.

5. To participate in the general management and care of all patients including undertaking investigations (Radiology and Pathology) and treatment as suggested by the consultant. To ensure that all investigations and treatment prescribed are carried out and collecting the report; reviewing the results of investigations communicating to consultant.

6. To see all new cases especially the seriously ill patient immediately upon admission and to initiate emergency treatment without delay. Identify Early Warning Signs of patients and communicate with Consultant.

7. Communicating to consultant on Critical Value on urgent basis.

8. To prepare a comprehensive discharge summary for each patient which is authenticated by a consultant.

9. To fill up all service request forms and consents completely and accurately.

10. To carry out privileged procedures under supervision.

11. To attend all department ward rounds with Consultants.

12. To check on the pre-operative preparation of patients posted for surgery.

13. To update case notes and complete all case records before discharge.

14. To report for any undesirable outcome/incident to superiors in following steps:

(a) Manage the patient

(b) Reporting the incident

(c) Participating in RCA (Root Cause Analysis).

15. To report all deviation or error in any system to the appropriate superior.

16. To attend all types of training organized by Human Resources and Medical Services.

17. Maintain high respect for Patients Confidentiality.

18. To have complete knowledge on Codes like Code Blue/Code Red/Code Black/Code Pink/Code Purple.

19. Monitoring activity of Nurses/Physiotherapist and Dietician.

Preferred candidate profile

MBBS with 1 to 5 years of experience with Gujarat Medical Council Registration Certificate. Fresher Candidate can also apply for the position.
