Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant Technician to join our team at Quinte Health. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.

Roles and Responsibility

Assist the laboratory technician with various laboratory tests and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of test results and patient information.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting.
Prepare specimens for testing and analyze data to ensure quality control.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care.
Develop and implement new laboratory procedures and protocols as needed.

Job Requirements

Diploma or degree in medical laboratory technology or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical laboratory setting, preferably in pre/post lab settings.
Possess strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Familiarity with laboratory software and instrumentation, and a willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
