MEDICAL CODING FACULTY

Key responsibilities

· Curriculum development:

Create and update lesson plans, course materials, and teaching methods for medical coding and related topics.

· Instruction and training:

Teach students about medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and the use of coding systems like ICD-10 and CPT.

· Hands-on guidance:

Provide practical, hands-on training in translating patient records into standardized codes, ensuring accuracy and proper sequencing for billing and compliance.

· Student evaluation:

Assess student understanding through assignments, tests, and practical exercises, and provide constructive feedback.

· Mentorship:

Mentor and guide students, assisting them with challenges they encounter during their training.

· Compliance and regulations:

Ensure students understand and are trained on all federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and guidelines related to medical coding.

· Subject matter expertise:

Act as a subject matter expert to address student questions about complex coding scenarios and documentation issues.
