Job Description

As a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be joining the e-mobility team at Schaeffler. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and optimize mechanical and High Voltage components and systems for electric vehicles, ensuring performance, safety, and manufacturability are the key focus areas. - Design and develop mechanical and High Voltage components and assemblies for EV Power Electronics, HV BOX, Inverter, powertrains, battery systems, chassis, and other vehicle sub-systems using CAD software like Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks, NX. - Conduct structural, thermal, and vibration analysis using FEA/CAE tools to optimize designs for performance, durability, and weight. - Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, and supply chain teams for seamless integration of mechanical designs and manufacturability. - Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) following industry standards such as ASME Y14.5. - Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit and function of assemblies. - Support prototyping, testing, and validation of designed components, analyzing test data for design improvements. - Conduct feasibility studies and material selection processes to optimize design solutions for cost, weight, and performance. - Implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles in all designs. - Participate in design reviews, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and DVP (Design Validation Plan) activities. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - 2-5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automotive or e-mobility industry. - Proficiency in 3D CAD software like Creo, CATIA, SolidWorks, NX, and WISE, PDM/PLM systems. - Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and material science. - Experience with FEA/CAE tools for simulation and analysis. - Knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, stamping, injection molding, and additive manufacturing. - Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.,
