Role Description Mechanical CAD & URDF Intern

• Create precise 3D CAD models of the medical imaging setup (enclosure cube, surgical NIR lamp, camera, mounts, and basic lab desk) using

  SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Siemens NX

  .
• Build full

  assemblies

  with correct constraints, joint types, and degrees of freedom (camera + NIR lamp integrated into the

  top face of the cube

  ).
• Define coordinate systems and joint limits suitable for robotics applications.
• Export clean

  STEP

  models and help generate a

  URDF/Xacro-ready

  structure for use in ROS/robot simulation.
• Iterate on design based on dimensions, feedback, and engineering requirements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with at least one of:

  SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX

  (part + assembly modeling).
• Understanding of

  constraints, mates, joints, and basic mechanism design

  .
• Ability to model accurately from

  photos, sketches, and basic measurements

  .
• Bonus: familiarity with

  URDF / ROS / robotics kinematics

  .
• Currently studying

  Mechanical / Mechatronics / Robotics / Industrial Design

  or self-taught with a strong CAD portfolio.
• Detail-oriented, able to document and name parts/assemblies in a clean, organized way.
