Private healthcare — tertiary & secondary care hospital serving Panvel / Navi Mumbai. Seeking an experienced consultant to deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient internal medicine services across general medicine and acute-care pathways.
Primary Title (standardized):
Consultant Physician – Internal MedicineRole & Responsibilities
- Provide on-site inpatient and outpatient clinical care for adult medicine patients—perform assessments, order investigations, establish diagnoses and manage treatment plans.
- Manage acute medical admissions and emergencies in coordination with emergency and critical-care teams; lead resuscitation when required.
- Conduct daily ward rounds, oversee admission/discharge decisions, and optimise length of stay and clinical outcomes.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff; ensure adherence to clinical protocols and escalation pathways.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with specialists (cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, endocrinology) and liaise with diagnostic services for timely interventions.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, clinical audits and quality-improvement initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MD (Internal Medicine) or equivalent postgraduate qualification and active medical registration.
- Proven experience managing adult inpatient and outpatient medicine caseloads in a hospital setting.
- ACLS and BLS certification; competency in emergency resuscitation protocols.
- Proficiency in ECG interpretation and management of common acute cardiac presentations.
- Experience with point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) for bedside assessment.
- Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records / Hospital Information Systems.
Preferred
- Exposure to ventilator management and basic critical-care support.
- Prior experience in a multi-specialty hospital and participation in clinical governance activities.
- Training or experience in chronic disease management programs (diabetes, COPD, hypertension).
