Job Description: Mainframe Developer (3-5 Years Experience) Position Title: Mainframe Developer Experience Level: Mid-Level (3-5 Years) Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with 3-5 years of experience in COBOL, JCL, Assembler, C and DB2. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications that are critical to our business operations. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work effectively in a team environment and has a deep understanding of mainframe technologies. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance and Support : Perform regular maintenance and provide technical support for existing mainframe applications written in COBOL, Assembler, C and DB2. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Code Review and Testing : Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Develop and execute test plans to ensure the quality and reliability of the applications. Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all development and maintenance activities. Ensure that all technical documentation is up to date and easily accessible. Collaboration : Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, business analysts, QA testers, and other developers. System Analysis : Analyze system requirements and specifications to determine the best approach for development. Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions. Performance Optimization : Optimize application performance by identifying and resolving bottlenecks. Required Skills and Qualifications: Technical Proficiency : Strong experience in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 . Ability to write, analyze, and debug complex code. Experience with Assembler and/or C Language is preferred along with other mainframe tools. In-depth knowledge of mainframe environment. · Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Attention to Detail : Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
