Marker

Job Purpose

The Marker is responsible for accurately marking plates, pipes, sections, and structural components as per drawings and specifications to facilitate cutting, fabrication, and assembly in shipbuilding projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Study and interpret shipbuilding drawings, nesting plans, templates, and specifications.
• Carry out accurate marking on steel plates, pipes, frames, and structural members using chalk, soapstone, scribers, and measuring instruments.
• Mark cutting lines, welding joints, bending points, holes, and reference points as per approved drawings.
• Coordinate with fabrication, cutting, welding, and quality teams to ensure correct execution of markings.
• Ensure proper material identification, part numbering, and orientation marking.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignment before cutting or fabrication.
• Rectify marking errors, if any, before downstream operations.
• Maintain tools and ensure work area cleanliness and safety.
• Follow shipyard safety rules, quality standards, and project timelines.

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI / Trade Certificate or equivalent practical experience in shipbuilding or heavy fabrication.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Marker in shipyards or marine fabrication projects.
• Good knowledge of shipbuilding drawings and symbols.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
