Job Title: PTC Windchill Technical Manager

Experience: 10-12 Years

Role Overview

Lead Windchill technical architecture, configuration, customization, integrations, migration and platform governance initiatives, ensuring alignment between PLM business processes, enterprise architecture and engineering systems. Act as a technical SME and lead technical delivery for enterprise Windchill transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the technical SME and lead for enterprise Windchill PLM solutions across PDMLink, MPMLink, ProjectLink, PartsLink and related capabilities.

Provide technical leadership for Windchill architecture, configuration, customization, workflows, lifecycles, security, data models and system administration.

Lead Windchill integrations with CAD, ERP/SAP, MES, ALM and other enterprise applications, ensuring reliable data exchange and end-to-end process integration.

Lead Windchill migration, upgrade, consolidation and modernization initiatives, including data assessment, mapping, transformation, validation, mock migration, cutover and production migration.

Define and govern Windchill technical standards, development frameworks, customization guidelines, performance standards and reusable components.

Provide advanced troubleshooting, technical analysis and root-cause resolution for complex Windchill application, integration, performance and data-related issues.

Translate business and functional requirements into scalable Windchill technical solutions and provide technical estimates, solution designs and implementation approaches.

Lead technical design reviews, architecture discussions, code reviews, integration reviews and solution assessments with internal and client stakeholders.

Drive platform modernization, automation, performance optimization, high availability, security, monitoring and cloud adoption initiatives for Windchill environments.

Mentor Windchill developers and consultants, provide technical guidance, review deliverables, manage technical risks and support project leadership in delivery planning and execution.

Required Skills & Experience (Mandatory)

10–12 years of hands-on experience in PTC Windchill PLM implementations, configuration, customization, integration and technical architecture.

Strong expertise in Windchill 11/12/13 and core modules including PDMLink, MPMLink, ProjectLink and PartsLink.

Strong hands-on experience with Java, Windchill APIs, workflows, lifecycles, object models, configuration and customization.

Experience with Windchill integrations with Creo/CAD, SAP/ERP, MES, ALM and other enterprise applications.

Experience in Windchill migration, upgrade, data migration, WBM/Windchill Loader and migration validation activities.

Strong understanding of Windchill application architecture, Method Servers, BGMS, WVS/Workers, Solr, database, vaults, load balancing, SSO and enterprise infrastructure.

Ability to lead technical teams, conduct architecture/design reviews and work directly with business and client stakeholders.

Good to Have

Experience with Windchill+ / SaaS PLM and cloud-hosted Windchill environments.

Experience with Azure/AWS infrastructure, HA/DR, security, monitoring and performance optimization.

Knowledge of Creo, NX, CATIA, SolidWorks and multi-CAD integration with Windchill.

Experience with REST APIs, web services, Java customization, automation and integration frameworks.

Knowledge of PLM transformation, Digital Thread, Digital Twin, MBSE and Industry 4.0 concepts.

Experience working with legacy PLM platforms such as ENOVIA or Teamcenter and migrating to Windchill.

Strong understanding of product data governance, engineering change management, configuration management, BOM management and enterprise PLM processes.

Experience working in global engineering environments and coordinating offshore/onshore technical teams.
