Linux Wireless Engineer

This is a full-time role at the Bangalore office of Wifi Dabba, a company dedicated to providing affordable internet connectivity to both humans and machines. The idea of Wifi Dabba was born out of the founders" decade-long experience in the mobile application industry, where they identified the lack of cheap and accessible internet as a significant reason for user churn. To address this issue, Wifi Dabba is constructing a low-cost, scalable, and distributed Wi-Fi infrastructure using a grid of lasers (Free Space Optics) to bring fast and affordable internet access to a wide population. The company's mission is to enable anyone to purchase 1 gig of data access at an affordable price, leveraging crypto and blockchain technologies to decentralize internet infrastructure ownership and become the connectivity layer for the Web3 world. To be considered for this role, candidates should possess strong engineering fundamentals, with a preference for a background in Computer Science or Electrical and Electronics Engineering. A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant work experience is required, along with proficiency in C/C++ programming languages. Additionally, candidates should have experience working in a Linux environment, developing applications, or Linux drivers, and familiarity with network device drivers, operating system internals, kernels, compilers, SOC architecture, among other technical areas related to Wi-Fi development. Bonus points will be awarded to candidates with an entrepreneurial mindset, customer-centric approach, previous experience in telecom software or infrastructure, and a background in high-growth startup environments. The interview process consists of three rounds, including video calls and in-person interviews to assess technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and compatibility with the company's vision.
