Librarian

ANNA ADARSH COLLEGE FOR WOMEN, located in Anna Nagar, Chennai is looking for Librarian.

• Only women candidates can apply.
• Qualification: A Master's Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation is required, typically with a minimum of 55% marks. A Ph.D. in the field is often a desirable qualification.
• Eligibility: Candidates must have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) or an equivalent state-level test (SET/SLET) conducted by the UGC or an approved agency or Ph.D. in Library Science .
• Computer literacy and knowledge of library management software are also mandatory.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Overseeing all library operations, including budgeting, staff management, and policy development.
• Building and maintaining a relevant and up-to-date collection of print and digital resources.
• Providing reference and information services to library users.
• Managing the library's cataloging, classification, and metadata creation.
• Implementing and managing library automation systems, digital repositories, and other library technologies.
