Job Description

Role Overview: As a Senior Data Engineer specializing in Python, your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL. Your focus will be on ensuring efficient data transformation, enrichment, and integration. You will work closely with ESRI data sources to support geospatial analytics within the enterprise data platform. Collaboration will be crucial in this role, as you will engage cross-functionally with data analysts, GIS specialists, and data architects to deliver clean and well-structured data tailored for analytics and operational applications. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL - Ensure efficient data transformation, enrichment, and integration - Work closely with ESRI data sources to support geospatial analytics - Engage cross-functionally with data analysts, GIS specialists, and data architects - Lead the ingestion, transformation, and curation of large-scale datasets into Snowflake or other cloud-based data warehouses - Conduct performance tuning of databases and pipelines to optimize query performance and data throughput - Implement robust data validation and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy - Document technical processes, develop reusable data engineering components, and contribute to evolving best practices and internal standards Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or backend data development roles - Advanced proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and integration tasks - Strong expertise in Snowflake and/or other cloud data warehouses such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar SQL-based platforms - Hands-on experience with ESRI geospatial platforms and working with spatial data formats - Deep understanding of relational databases, data modeling principles, and query performance optimization - Proven experience in designing and managing scalable ETL pipelines and data architectures - Solid knowledge of data hygiene practices and pipeline reliability techniques Additional Company Details (if present): The successful candidate will also benefit from familiarity with other geospatial data standards and tools beyond ESRI, experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP in the context of data engineering services, knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools, exposure to real-time data streaming technologies, strong scripting skills in other languages for automation and integration, and experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows. Your proficiency in Python, SQL, and ESRI tools will be crucial for success in this role, enabling you to effectively design and maintain efficient data pipelines and collaborate with various teams to deliver high-quality data tailored for analytical and operational purposes.,
