Junior School Class Teacher

Wellington College International Pune is looking for an experienced candidate to cover the position of Junior School Class Teacher. We are looking for candidates who understand collaboration and the importance of meaningful relationships as a means to strive for excellence in both their own professional development and for first class provision for all of our children. WCI Pune is the eighth school in the Wellington College International family and the first of several planned for India. It benefits from a strong partnership and collaboration with Wellington College UK and Wellington College schools in China and Thailand.

WCI Pune is a coeducational day school, intended for 800 pupils between the ages of 2-18. The school is established on a campus designed by MICA, an award-winning and leading British architectural firm. The School opened in September 2023 and follows the Early Years Foundation Stage framework and the English National Curriculum, for which Wellington College is regarded as one of the leading schools in the UK. The curriculum is designed to be suitably enhanced and with consideration of the cultural context and the needs of our pupils. Teaching in the Early Years and Junior School, the latter equivalent to Grades 2-5 in India, is delivered by exceptional internationally trained teachers with specialist teachers in Sports and the Performing Arts for example. Subject specialists are introduced in the Junior School.

The Senior School commences with the English National Curriculum for Grades 6-8 (Years 7 to 9), followed by the IGCSE for Grades 9 and 10 (Years 10 and 11). We intend to offer the IBDP from August 2025, for Grade 11 (Year 12) students.

Pastoral care and support for the younger pupils are focused on by everyone in the teaching teams, from class teachers to teaching assistants, and support staff.

In line with Wellington College UK, an extensive Co-Curricular Programme of Sports and other After-School Activities will be provided to enrich and broaden the education offered.

Nestled at the banks of the Mula-Mutha river in Pune at Wagholi, Wellington College enjoys a lush, serene, and inspiring campus. It also has proximity to the Pune airport, prominent hospitality, residential and retail developments.
