Location: Anna Nagar, Chennai Position Summary Obtains, calculates and compiles data for use in conceptual/bid proposal estimates, preparing routine estimates under general supervision. Reports To: Lead Estimator Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring that all quantity surveys and pricing are accurate and complete Provide support for the development of bidding strategies by debriefing the salesperson of job elements Leads the documentation management of the project, ensures all documents are complete and clearly conveys decisions made to sales and operations teams. Attend pre-bid meetings to discuss project specifics and scope Participate in bid closings and estimate reviews Balance workload and assignments to meet deadlines Develop a value analysis study by defining alternatives to the proposed scope that are more cost-efficient Manage action items from Post Bid and finalize scope. Compute cost estimates for materials, purchased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities and requirements, and labor. Customer Service Skills (Internal Only) · Demonstrates commitment to deliver outstanding service – with internal customers · Listens well, asks clarifying questions, and checks for agreement with customers · Committed to following-up with customers in all instances in a timely manner · Strong sense of accountability - ensures that you will do what you say that you are going to do · Creates a personal connection with customers(internal) – smiles, warm greetings, acts friendly and respectful · Positive attitude Preferred Qualifications Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Civil or Mechanical) Other degrees are also acceptable, if the person is keen and talented 0 – 2 years of experience in a related field Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Bids are accurate and profitable · Must be available on some days to work and take customer calls during night hours to accommodate U.S.-based clients (up to 10 PM local time). · Good proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication, to effectively engage with customers and team members. · Basic knowledge of lab products, services, processes and projects · Understands project plans and specifications · Independently performs most assignments with instruction · Seeks guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisor approval for changes in standards · Open to feedback and flexible to change · Proficient in MS Office Suite · Strong prioritization and organizational skills, detail-oriented · Prior experience in Estimation or BOQ preparation is an added advantage Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹240,000.00 - ₹320,000.00 per year Schedule: Day shift Supplemental Pay: Performance bonus Yearly bonus Ability to commute/relocate: Chennai, Tamil Nadu: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Show more Show less
