Founding Engineer - AI-First SaaS Company: Julley Online Private Limited Location : Thub phase 2,Hyderabad Mode: On-site (5 days/week) Stage : Early startup (0-1) Why This Role Exists This is not just another engineering role. As a Founding Engineer, you will be one of the first and most critical technical hires, reporting directly to the founder. You will be instrumental in building the entire Julley Online platform from the ground up, moving us from vision and an early product to a scalable, multi-tenant SaaS company. You will set the technical direction, build the core product, and establish the engineering culture that will define this company for years to come. We need a builder, a leader, and a partner who is excited by the 0-to-1 journey. What You'll Do (The Full 0-to-1) Architect & Build: Lead the design, architecture, and hands-on development of our core AI-First workflow platform. You will write the code that becomes the foundation of everything we do. Partner with Founders: Work side-by-side with the founding team to translate the company's vision into a tangible technical roadmap and product reality. Be Full-Stack: Go wherever the fire is. You'll build resilient backend services (Java/Spring), integrate workflows (BPMN/DMN), manage infrastructure (AWS/Terraform), and, if needed, jump into the frontend to get features shipped. Set the Culture: Establish the foundations of our engineering culture: best practices, code quality, testing strategies, CI/CD, and a bias for rapid, high-quality execution. Engage Customers : Talk directly to our first customers. You will join demos, listen to feedback, and iterate on the product with a deep understanding of the user's problems. Hire & Mento r: Act as a technical pillar for the entire company, mentoring our first engineers and playing a key role in attracting and hiring the future team. Our Ideal Candidate (A Builder & a Leader) Is a Polyglot & Systems Thinker : You have 8-15+ years of experience and are a true expert in at least one area (ideally distributed Java/Spring backends) but possess the versatility and curiosity to contribute across the entire stack. Thrives in Ambiguity: You don't need a perfect spec. You can take a high-level product concept, ask the right questions, explore trade-offs, and turn it into a concrete technical plan and working software. Has Strong Product Sense: You are obsessed with the "why" and the user. You have strong customer empathy and can anticipate product needs, not just execute on a backlog. Is Pragmatic & Fast: You understand the art of the "Minimum Viable Product" and can balance the need for speed with the need for quality and long-term scalability. Has a Relevant Skillset : You have deep experience with our core technologies or their equivalents: Core: Java 17/21+, Spring Boot 3.x Workflows: BPMN 2.0 / DMN (e.g., Flowable, Camunda) is a massive plus. Data: Postgres, Redis, Kafka/SQS Ops: Docker, AWS (ECS/EKS), Terraform, GitHub Actions Is Mission-Aligned : You're genuinely excited by our AI-First mission and the potential to build LLM-driven autonomous workflows, RAG systems, and agentic frameworks. Is a Natural Leader: You lead by example, are passionate about mentoring, and set an uncompromisingly high bar for yourself and the team.
