Position Title: Medical Data Quality Control Team Lead Department: Operations Reports To: COO Role Purpose The Medical Data Quality Control Team Lead ensures that pathology and other clinical data processed in our health technology systems are accurate, complete, and reliable. This role is ideal for an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician or Technologist who has hands-on knowledge of pathology testing and terminology, and is ready to apply their expertise to the health data and digital health sector. The successful candidate will lead a team responsible for reviewing, validating, and improving the quality of clinical data that powers healthcare interoperability solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team conducting data quality checks on pathology and clinical datasets. Review large volumes of test results to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with medical standards. Apply clinical knowledge of pathology and medical terminology to validate and interpret data. Develop and maintain quality control procedures for clinical data management. Collaborate with internal technology and product teams to support the integration of high-quality health data into digital platforms. Identify data discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective measures. Train and mentor junior staff in clinical data quality review. Produce regular reports on data quality performance and improvement initiatives. Qualifications & Experience Qualified Medical Laboratory Technician or Technologist with a diploma/degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related field. At least 5 years’ experience in pathology testing within a laboratory environment. Strong understanding of pathology terminology, test data, and general medical terminology. Prior experience in quality control and data review. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for data validation and reporting. Experience working with large datasets requiring high accuracy and attention to detail. Familiarity with health data standards (HL7, FHIR, LOINC, SNOMED CT) is an advantage but not essential — training will be provided. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
