Role & responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Support New Product Development (NPD) by offering expert recommendations and metallurgical insights. Monitor process stability and consistently uphold product quality through metallurgy-informed decisions. Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring personnel safety and welfare. Manage customer complaints , foster improvements, and drive issue resolution at the plant. Conduct assessments of finished products and incoming materials; reject and report deviations promptly. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and plans to ensure conformance. Document inspection processes comprehensivelyincluding test reports and performance logs. Propose enhancements to production processes to uphold quality control standards. Coach production teams on QC protocols and product quality issues. Monitor and elevate customer satisfaction related to product quality. Oversee quality checkpoints throughout the production lifecycle. Develop, implement, and sustain QC policies, procedures, and audit mechanisms. Execute internal and external audits to ensure compliance with standards. Track QC data, analyze trends, and communicate findings to leadership. Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and R&D to embed QC considerations in design and processes. Create and deliver QC training programs for staff. Explore and pilot new QA/QC technologies and testing methodologies. Coordinate with certification bodies for audits and testing (on-site and off-site). Handle process QC duties and manage ISO-related activities . Participate in regular meetings focused on cost-effectiveness and Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives. Preferred candidate profile Experience in quality management, R&D, or test lab functions. Prior experience in the steel or metal manufacturing sector is highly desirable. Experience of leading or managing a team is a plus. Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal and cross-departmental communication abilities.
