Job Description Quality Engineer Position Title: Quality Engineer Department: Quality Reports To: Head of Department Quality Location: Jenith Technocast, Ranjangaon Role Summary The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet quality standards through inspection, calibration, documentation control, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves close coordination with production, customer service, and other departments to achieve zero-defect targets and maintain compliance with QMS requirements. Key Responsibilities Inspection & Quality Control Inspect previous days parts and assemblies for compliance. Conduct and record in-process inspection reports for all machines. Perform final inspection of Ready for Dispatch (RFD) material and attach status tags. Conduct product and process audits for critical processes. Calibration & Measurement Ensure calibration of all instruments and gauges on the production line as per schedule. Perform MSA (Measurement System Analysis) and maintain calibration records. Documentation & QMS Compliance Maintain and control process-related documents in accordance with QMS. Ensure records provide evidence of compliance with QMS requirements. Send required documents to customers for each dispatch. Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving Conduct root cause analysis using quality tools (Why-Why, 5 Whys, 7 QC tools). Initiate and implement actions for process capability improvement. Implement SPC (Statistical Process Control) and Kaizen initiatives. Lead horizontal deployment of quality improvements across processes. Customer Interaction Maintain customer complaint records and ensure timely resolution. Ensure zero in-house and customer-end PPM targets. Workplace Organization & Planning Maintain shop floor cleanliness and organization (1S, 2S). Plan and communicate daily and next-day activities to concerned departments. Identify requirements for jigs and fixtures based on job criticality. Required Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of QMS and ISO standards. Proficiency in 7 QC tools, SPC, MSA, and Kaizen. Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to prepare and interpret inspection reports. Good communication and coordination skills. Performance Indicators: Zero in-house and customer-end PPM. Timely calibration and inspection completion. Customer complaint resolution time. Compliance with QMS audit requirements.
