We are looking for a technically skilled IT Engineer with an Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) background and hands-on experience in networking, IT infrastructure, and end-user support. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the company's IT systems, network connectivity, hardware, software, and communication infrastructure to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
The role involves providing technical support to Head Office employees and coordinating IT requirements for project sites across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Administration & Troubleshooting
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and internet connectivity.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VPN access.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, wireless access points, and other networking devices.
- Monitor network performance and coordinate with internet service providers for connectivity issues.
- Maintain network documentation, IP address records, and infrastructure diagrams.
2. IT Hardware & Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
- Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, and peripheral issues.
- Manage hardware allocation, asset tracking, inventory, and maintenance records.
- Coordinate laptop and desktop issuance, collection, repair, and replacement.
- Assist with IT infrastructure setup for new employees, departments, and project sites.
3. System Administration & User Support
- Install and configure Windows operating systems, drivers, and authorized software.
- Create and manage user accounts, access permissions, and email configurations as authorized.
- Provide technical support for Microsoft Office applications, email, printers, and other business tools.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues and resolve employee IT queries within defined timelines.
- Maintain IT support tickets and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate team.
4. Email & Application Support
- Assist with the creation, configuration, and troubleshooting of official email accounts.
- Support employees with email access, password resets, Outlook configuration, and synchronization issues.
- Coordinate with application vendors and internal teams to resolve software-related problems.
- Provide basic technical support for HRMS, ERP, and other organizational applications.
5. IT Security & Data Protection
- Ensure antivirus and endpoint security software are installed and updated.
- Implement authorized access controls and follow IT security policies.
- Assist with data backup procedures and basic recovery activities.
- Support secure configuration of systems and networking devices.
- Report suspicious activity, unauthorized access, and potential security incidents promptly.
6. IT Support for Project Sites
- Coordinate IT infrastructure requirements for new project locations.
- Support site teams with internet connectivity, networking, computers, printers, and email access.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment installation and repairs.
- Conduct remote troubleshooting and arrange on-site support when necessary.
7. IT Asset & Vendor Management
- Maintain updated records of IT assets, serial numbers, assigned users, and locations.
- Coordinate with hardware vendors, internet service providers, and IT support partners.
- Track warranty periods, repairs, service requests, and equipment replacements.
- Assist in procurement planning for IT hardware, networking equipment, and software licenses.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or a Diploma in ECE.
- Candidates with an ECE background and practical networking knowledge are encouraged to apply.
- Additional certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft-related certifications will be an advantage.
Required Skills
- Good understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and Wi-Fi.
- Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and network troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, desktop support, and hardware maintenance.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and email configuration.
- Basic understanding of firewalls, antivirus, endpoint security, and data backup.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to support multiple departments and project sites.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates with an ECE qualification and hands-on networking experience.
- Experience in IT support, network administration, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Candidates who can independently handle day-to-day IT operations and coordinate with external vendors.
- Willingness to provide technical support to project sites across multiple locations when required.
