Interior Designer

Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Wood Art Designer to join our team. In this role, you will blend artistic vision with craftsmanship to conceptualise and design high-quality wood products. Whether designing bespoke handicraft, intricate wall art, or architectural elements, you will be responsible for taking ideas from the initial sketch phase through to technical drafting and final production. The ideal candidate has a deep passion for wood as a material and understands how to highlight its natural beauty while ensuring structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Conceptualisation

• Develop original design concepts for wooden wall art, artifacts, handicraft etc
• Create hand sketches, mood boards, and high-quality 3D renderings to communicate ideas to clients and stakeholders.
• Translate artistic concepts into precise technical drawings and blueprints for production.

2. Technical Development

• Create production-ready files for manufacturing, including CAD drawings and files for CNC/Laser cutting if applicable.
• Select appropriate wood species, grains, veneers, and finishes based on aesthetics, durability, and cost.
• Design complex joinery details and solve structural challenges to ensure product longevity.

3. Production Support & Prototyping

• Collaborate closely with master carpenters, CNC operators, and finishers to ensure the final product matches the design intent.
• Build or oversee the creation of physical prototypes/mock-ups to test scale, ergonomics, and function.
• Troubleshoot design issues that arise during the manufacturing process.

4. Market & Material Research

• Stay updated on interior design trends, sustainable forestry practices, and new woodworking technologies.
• Experiment with mixed materials (e.g., combining wood with epoxy, metal, glass, or stone) to create innovative designs.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or handicraft Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in product design with a strong focus on wood.
• Software Proficiency:
• Advanced skills in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, or SketchUp).
• Proficiency in rendering tools (e.g., KeyShot, V-Ray, or Blender).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for technical drafting.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of wood properties (movement, hardness, grain), joinery techniques, and finishing processes.
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating wood-based projects, sketches, and technical drawings is required.

Preferred Skills (Nice to have)

• Hands-on woodworking or carpentry experience.
• Experience with CAM software and CNC machining.
• Knowledge of sustainable and eco-friendly design practices.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
