Injection Moulding Supervisor

The Injection Moulding Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily manufacturing operations within the plastic injection moulding department. This includes managing a team of operators and technicians, optimizing machine efficiency, ensuring product quality meets specifications, and maintaining a safe and organized production environment. The supervisor will be a critical link between management and the production floor, driving continuous improvement and meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management

• Lead and direct the daily activities of production personnel, including machine operators, material handlers, and moulding technicians.
• Monitor and adjust production schedules to meet customer deadlines and efficiency goals (e.g., maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness - $OEE$).
• Oversee and optimize mould changeovers, setups, and process startups to minimize downtime and ensure first-pass yield.
• Manage material flow, ensuring timely delivery and proper handling of various plastic resins and additives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve routine moulding process issues such as short shots, flash, warp, and surface defects.

Quality and Safety

• Ensure strict adherence to established quality control procedures, including in-process inspection protocols and documentation.
• Collaborate with the Quality Department to investigate defects, implement corrective actions, and reduce scrap rates.
• Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all company safety rules and $OSHA$ regulations.
• Conduct routine safety checks on equipment and work areas.

Leadership & Development

• Train, mentor, and evaluate team members on job performance, machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Conduct performance reviews and address personnel issues, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for scheduled preventive maintenance ($PM$) and prompt repair of equipment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving cycle times, and enhancing operational efficiency.
