Key Responsibilities 1. Product Design & Development Lead end-to-end product design of forged components as per customer requirements. Create CAD models and engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Windmill, NX-3D, etc. Interact with customers to ensure clarity and feasibility of design specifications. Conduct simulations, stress analysis, and prototype testing to validate designs. Ensure designs are cost-effective, manufacturable, and meet quality standards. 2. Process & Tooling Development Design forging dies, tools, and fixtures for new and existing products. Coordinate with toolmakers and production teams to improve die performance and life. Innovate forging process improvements to reduce defects and material wastage. Define and optimize heat treatment and machining parameters. 3. Project Management Manage NPD (New Product Development) project timelines and milestones. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful launches. Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout the development cycle. 4. New Product Introduction (NPI) Oversee the entire NPI process from concept, feasibility, and development to full-scale production. Prepare and monitor development schedules in coordination with internal departments. Ensure smooth product handover to manufacturing teams. 5. Quality & Compliance Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards (ISO, ASTM, DIN, etc.). Work with QA to define inspection and testing protocols. Lead root cause analysis for design failures and implement corrective actions. 6. Cost & Efficiency Optimization Drive cost-reduction initiatives through design and process innovations. Optimize raw material usage and reduce process cycle times. Explore alternative materials and methods to enhance durability and reduce cost. 7. Innovation & Technology Advancement Monitor industry trends in forging technology, simulation, and material sciences. Implement cutting-edge design tools, simulation software, and automation techniques. Promote adoption of AI, digital tools, and advanced design methodologies. 8. Team Management & Training Lead, mentor, and grow the design and development team. Organize technical training to upgrade team skills in CAD, FEA, and related tools. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. 9. Customer & Vendor Interaction Provide technical support to customers and address design-related concerns. Collaborate with vendors for sourcing materials and outsourced operations. Support sales and marketing during technical presentations or client meetings.
