Congratulations to Indi Kindi educators Keara Baker-Storey (Warumungu/Wambaya) and Kaitie Fraser (Warumungu/Bidjara) from Tennant Creek, and Annika Rory (Yanyuwa) and Andrea Norman (Yanyuwa) from Borroloola, on completing a Circle of Security course in Darwin recently.
The highly internationally renowned Circle of Security training focuses on enhancing caregiver-child attachment to improve emotional regulation and promote resilience, an approach that is closely aligned to Indi Kindi’s methodology. This training will also enhance the educators’ ability to navigate the unique and often complex challenges of working in vulnerable remote communities.
The Indi Kindi group travelled over 10 hours from their remote communities to take part in the course. It also provided a rare opportunity for the educators to come together in person to share knowledge and experiences.
Moriarty Foundation has a strong focus on building career pathways and local community capacity through mentoring, skills development and formal qualifications to develop and support our educators. Opportunities like this equip our teams with valuable knowledge and tools to support families and the wider community to prioritise children’s development and secure relationships.
We are grateful to Teck Resources for making this valuable training possible.
