About the Orange Movement Launched in 2022, the Orange Movement is a global initiative led by IIX to integrate gender equality and climate action into financial markets . As part of this movement, IIX introduced Orange Bonds , the world s first gender lens and climate focused asset class designed to: Mobilize $10 billion in capital markets by 2030 Impact 100 million women, girls, and gender minorities Position women and gender minorities as key players in climate mitigation and adaptation The Orange Movement operates through strategic partnerships, financial innovation, and advocacy to transform global finance into a more inclusive and sustainable system. The program is currently funded by Australia s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) for the next three years , providing a strong foundation for growth. The Head of the Orange Movement will be responsible for executing the current program effectively while securing additional funding to expand its reach and impact. About the Role: The VP of Marketing, Events Donor Engagement at IIX is a critical leadership role responsible for elevating brand awareness, amplifying impact stories, and cultivating strong relationships with donors, all in service of IIXs mission. This role leads the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and communications strategies, oversees high profile events and campaigns, manages donor engagement initiatives, and directs media relations to maximize IIXs visibility and impact, particularly in relation to the movements and initiatives it houses. Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy Lead major events, summits, and campaigns Manage donor communications and engagement strategies Oversee media relations Work closely with the fundraising team Amplify impact stories Enhance brand visibility Manage digital marketing and social media Develop content marketing initiatives Monitor marketing and communications performance Key Responsibilities: 1. Marketing Communications Strategy Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for IIX and its key initiatives (including the Orange Movement and others), enhancing global visibility, building brand recognition, and effectively communicating its mission, impact, and value proposition to target audiences. Identity target audiences, crafting compelling narratives, selecting appropriate channels (digital and traditional), and measuring campaign effectiveness. 2. Brand Management Oversee the development and implementation of brand guidelines and messaging for IIX and its various initiatives, ensuring consistent and impactful communication across all platforms. Maintain brand integrity and enhance brand equity. This includes managing distinct brand identities where appropriate while maintaining overall IIX brand cohesion. 3. Storytelling Content Creation Develop and execute a content strategy that showcases IIXs and its movements impact through compelling stories, case studies, videos, blog posts, social media content, and other engaging formats. Oversee the creation of high quality content that resonates with target audiences and drives engagement. 4. Media Relations Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts, proactively pitch stories to top tier publications (both general and impact focused), and manage media inquiries. Secure positive media coverage to raise awareness of IIX, its work, and its impact. 5. Events Campaigns Lead the planning and execution of major events, summits, conferences, and campaigns to showcase IIXs and its movements work, engage stakeholders, and generate momentum. Manage logistics, developing event programming, securing speakers, overseeing event promotion, and ensuring alignment with broader IIX strategic goals. 6. Digital Marketing Oversee the management of IIXs digital presence, including websites, social media channels, email marketing, and other online platforms. Implement digital marketing strategies to increase reach, engagement, and brand awareness. Manage distinct digital presences for key initiatives while ensuring overall brand coherence. 7. Donor Communications Engagement Develop and implement donor communications and engagement strategies to cultivate relationships with existing donors, increase donor retention, and attract new donors. This includes creating personalized communications, organizing donor events, and managing donor recognition programs. 8. Fundraising Support Work closely with the fundraising team to design and execute donor engagement campaigns that support fundraising goals for IIX and its various initiatives. Develop compelling messaging and materials for fundraising appeals. 9. Cross Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with other teams within IIX, including programs, investments, research, and finance, to ensure alignment and maximize synergies. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments. 10. Data Analysis Reporting Track and analyze key metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing, events, and donor engagement initiatives. Provide regular reports on progress and make data driven recommendations for improvement. 11. Team Leadership Management Lead, manage, and mentor a high performing team of marketing, events, and communications professionals. Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and support professional development. 12. Budget Management Manage the budget for marketing, events, and donor engagement activities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Reach at least 1M people globally through marketing campaigns by year three. Organize at least three high profile global events annually. Secure at least $2M through donor engagement campaigns over three years. Maintain at least 80% donor retention rate. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. A Masters degree in a related field is preferred. Experience: 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, events management, and/or donor engagement, preferably in the non profit, impact investing, or international development sector. Knowledge of CRM systems and donor databases. Expertise:Demonstrated success in developing and implementing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that enhance global visibility and brand recognition.Proven track record of leading and managing major events, summits, and campaigns that showcase impact and drive engagement.Experience in developing and executing donor communications and engagement strategies that increase retention and cultivate deeper relationships with donors.Experience working closely with fundraising teams to design and implement integrated donor engagement campaigns. Communication Skills: Exceptional public speaking, writing, and storytelling abilities. Strategic Mindset: Ability to translate vision into action and drive measurable results. Collaboration Leadership: Proven experience managing cross functional teams and complex projects. Location: Fully remote within APAC region with availability to travel. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership Vision Develop and implement the global strategy for the Orange Movement. Ensure the successful execution of the current DFAT funded program. Identify opportunities to expand and scale the movement through additional funding and partnerships. 2. Partnerships Stakeholder Engagement Build and manage relationships with governments, DFIs, UN agencies, corporations, and philanthropists. Identify and negotiate high impact partnerships to scale the movement. 3. Fundraising Resource Mobilization Lead fundraising efforts to secure additional multi year funding beyond the current DFAT grant. Identify funding opportunities, write grant proposals, and cultivate donor relationships. Oversee grant reporting and financial management. 4. Advocacy Thought Leadership Serve as the primary spokesperson for the Orange Movement. Represent the movement at global forums, media engagements, and conferences. Launch and lead at least three high profile advocacy campaigns per year. 5. Governance Accountability Ensure transparency, accountability, and effective decision making. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and measure impact. 6. Program Management Execution Oversee all programs, budgets, timelines, and resources. Ensure alignment and cross team collaboration within IIX. 7. Team Leadership Collaboration Lead a high performing Orange Movement team. Work cross functionally with IIX investments, advisory, research, and communications teams. 8. Sustainability Growth Develop strategies for the long term sustainability of the Orange Movement. Strengthen the movement s brand identity and global community. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Ensure successful execution of the current DFAT funded program Secure at least $10M in funding within three years Establish partnerships with 10+ global institutions (DFIs, UN agencies, corporates) Lead at least three high profile global advocacy campaigns per year Ensure the financial and operational sustainability of the movement within three years Required Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree required; MBA or Master s in Business, Commerce, or Finance preferred. Experience: 15+ years in leadership, strategy development, or engagement within finance, impact investing, or social impact. Enhance IIX Institutes visibility through collaborations, external speaking, and co-developed learning initiatives. Effectively manage content teams and work cross-functionally to deliver impactful learning programs on time and within scope. Drive adoption of new content formats and digital learning tools to expand reach and improve the learner experience. Preferred Qualifications 47 years of professional experience in content creation, learning design, or communications, ideally in the development or education sector. Strong writing, editing, and formatting skills with experience producing educational or training materials. Experience working on donor-funded programs (e.g., DFAT, USAID, ADB, etc.) preferred. Familiarity with capacity building in gender, inclusive finance, social enterprise, or sustainable development is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with e-learning tools (e.g., Articulate, Teachable, Canva, or Moodle) is advantageous. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders.
