Role Overview:

HVAC Design Lead & BIM Knowledge Lead

Key Responsibilities:

HVAC Design Leadership

• Lead and manage the design of HVAC systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects in accordance with ASHRAE, SMACNA, and relevant international standards.
• Perform system design calculations, load analysis, and equipment selection (Chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF, etc.).
• Prepare and review design documents including schematics, layouts, sections, and equipment schedules.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, and electrical teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Review vendor submissions and support procurement with technical clarifications.
• Conduct value engineering and ensure energy-efficient design practices.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and design teams in HVAC fundamentals and project delivery.

BIM Knowledge Leadership

• Oversee the development and implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) for MEP disciplines.
• Define and enforce BIM standards, naming conventions, and modeling workflows for MEP coordination.
• Manage model quality, clash detection, and data accuracy across design stages (LOD 300500).
• Collaborate with project BIM teams to ensure smooth coordination between HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural models.
• Train and upskill design teams in Revit MEP, Navisworks, and other BIM-related tools.
• Review and audit MEP BIM models for compliance with project standards.
• Support digital transformation initiatives and improve BIM-based design automation processes.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong proficiency in

  Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 / ACC.

• Expertise in HVAC system design and load calculation tools such as

  HAP, Carrier E20, or Trace 700.

• Sound knowledge of

  ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and IS codes.

• Familiarity with

  COBie, IFC standards, and BIM interoperability workflows.

• Understanding of

  MEP coordination, clash resolution, and 3D visualization techniques.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in

  Mechanical Engineering

  (preferred).
• Certification in

  BIM (Revit MEP / Autodesk Certified Professional)

  is an added advantage.
• Membership in professional organizations like

  ASHRAE / ISHRAE

  is preferred.
