Job Title: Field Sales Engineer – Valve Industry Department: Sales & Business Development Location: [Insert Location – e.g.,Bharuch,Ankleshwar,Kutch,Ahemdavad,Hyderabad] Reports to: Regional Sales Manager / Sales Director Job Type: Full-time | Field-Based Job Summary: The Field Sales Engineer is responsible for generating revenue by identifying and developing new business opportunities, maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers, and providing technical expertise on industrial valve products. This role involves frequent travel to client sites, understanding customer requirements, and delivering solutions tailored to the process industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power, water, and manufacturing. Key Responsibilities: Sales & Business Development: • Identify new sales opportunities in the assigned territory or industry sector. • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends. • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets. • Generate and follow up on leads, quotations, and proposals. • Negotiate contracts and close deals in alignment with company policies. Customer Relationship Management: • Build strong long-term relationships with key accounts and stakeholders. • Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, technical support, and post-sales follow-up. • Conduct regular customer visits, presentations, and technical demonstrations. • Provide feedback to internal teams on customer needs, concerns, and market feedback. Technical Expertise: • Understand customer applications and recommend suitable valve solutions (e.g., ball, gate, globe, butterfly, control valves, safety relief valves, actuators, etc.). • Provide pre-sales and after-sales technical support including installation guidance and troubleshooting. • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers and consultants. • Collaborate with internal engineering, product management, and service teams. Reporting & Coordination: • Maintain accurate records of sales activities using CRM tools. • Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports, forecasts, and competitor analysis. • Participate in sales meetings, exhibitions, and industry events. • Coordinate with supply chain/logistics to ensure timely delivery of products. Required Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical field. • Experience: 2–5+ years of experience in technical sales, preferably in valves, flow control, or industrial equipment. • Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license; technical training certifications in valve technologies (optional but preferred). Key Skills and Competencies: • In-depth knowledge of industrial valves and associated applications. • Strong technical and commercial acumen. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Self-motivated and target-driven with a customer-centric mindset. • Proficiency in CRM systems ,MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. • Willingness to travel frequently within assigned territory. Preferred Experience (Advantageous but not mandatory): • Experience in selling to sectors like oil & gas, power, chemical, or water treatment. • Understanding of industry standards and certifications (API, ASME, ANSI, ISO, etc.). • Exposure to control valve sizing software or actuator selection tools. Work Environment: • This is a field-based role requiring regular travel (up to 70–80%). • Some office or remote-based work for reporting, planning, and coordination.
