You should have advanced vocational training along with at least two years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous background in the extended stay industry or apartment building maintenance is preferred. It is essential to have knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, electricity, and equipment mechanics. Being able to speak, read, and write fluent English is required; knowledge of other languages is beneficial. Reading and writing abilities are necessary to receive instructions for the day and read equipment manuals, including safety information. Additionally, mathematical skills including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are important.
