Highway Design Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs using Civil 3D software for roads, highways, and other infrastructure projects.
• Planning and execution of design activities as per the contractual provisions
• Carry out economical Geometric, drainage and Pavement design using MX/ Open Roads software complying codal/ contractual provisions
• Prepare Scope of Work for survey agencies, coordinate for collection of data during survey phase regularly
• Liaison with AE/ IE / Authority and receive approval of Designs and issue Good for Construction drawings
• Coordination with sub-contractors/ site team for resolving any design related issue during construction and issue modified design/ drawings
• Preparation, submission and approval of Quality Assurance Plan
• Preparation, submission and approval of Method Statements for road works
• Assist in preparation of Design Basis Report (DBR) to team members/ Project Director
• Prepare diversion plans, traffic management plans and get approval from IE/ AE
• Conduct site visit to verify execution of road works in line with approved Method Statements
• Assist the Team/ Project Director for preparation of Presentations whenever required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Planning and completion of geometric, drainage and pavement design activities before or as per the time period stipulated in Contract document/ Concession Agreement
• Proficiency of software for geometric/ drain and pavement design is must
• Timely collection, verification and ensure accuracy the survey data received from the agency
• Timely submission and approval of Diversion plans, plans for ancillary works, Method statements, QAP for road works from AE/IE
• Regular coordination with Bridge designer/ agencies for avoiding any mismatch in designs
• Coordination with site team / site visit for resolving design related issues and prompt issuance of modified design / drawings for the execution
