Job Description: Hair and Makeup Artist About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Hair and Makeup Artist to join our in-house production team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing on-screen talent to look their absolute best for high-definition, cinematic video shoots ranging from educational masterclasses and interviews to premium brand films. You will play a key role in enhancing the on-camera presence of presenters, ensuring their look aligns with our brand aesthetics while remaining consistent, professional, and camera-ready under studio lighting conditions. Key Responsibilities Hair & Makeup Application Provide natural and professional makeup that enhances the presenter's features for 4K / HD video capture , ensuring a polished yet authentic appearance. Perform on-location hairstyling , maintaining clean, camera-friendly looks that hold throughout long shoot schedules. Match skin tones accurately, ensuring smooth complexions without looking overdoneespecially important for close-up shots and cinematic lighting setups . On-Set Touch-Ups & Continuity Be present during shoots to monitor and maintain makeup and hair continuity , addressing shine, flyaways, or makeup shifts between takes. Perform regular touch-ups as required to counteract studio lighting effects, perspiration, or long hours on set. Maintain continuity across multiple shoot days, keeping consistent looks for talent in multi-module recordings or episodic content . Skin & Hair Preparation Prep the skin prior to makeup application, ensuring hydration and appropriate priming for HD camera-friendly finishes . Address common concerns such as blemishes , dark circles , or uneven skin tone , using high-quality products suitable for all skin types. Style hair to suit the shoot brief , ensuring volume, neatness, and longevity under production lights and heat . Collaboration & Planning Collaborate with the director , production team , and talent coordinators to understand the visual requirements , ensuring the talents look complements the overall aesthetic and tone of the project. Provide pre-shoot consultations when necessary, advising talent on skin care routines or hair preparation before shoot days. Recommend products, styles, or looks that reflect current industry trends while maintaining brand consistency . Equipment & Hygiene Management Maintain a clean, hygienic workspace , following sanitization protocols for all tools, brushes, and products. Keep an organized kit of professional-grade makeup and hair tools , ensuring readiness for both studio and on-location shoots . Manage product inventory , recommending and procuring high-definition makeup , mattifiers , and anti-shine products suited for video production. What Were Looking For Experience : 3+ years working as a professional Hair and Makeup Artist in film , commercial , broadcast , or digital content production. Technical Expertise : Skilled in creating natural, camera-ready looks appropriate for HD/4K filming under various lighting conditions. Proficient in handling different skin tones and hair textures . Experience managing makeup for male and female talent , including anti-shine techniques and matte finishes suited for cinematic setups . Soft Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to make on-screen talent feel comfortable and confident. A keen eye for detail , particularly for consistency and symmetry under camera scrutiny. Professionalism : Ability to work efficiently under time constraints while maintaining high-quality standards. A collaborative approach to working with directors, DOPs, and production teams. Nice to Have Experience with special effects makeup or character makeup for cinematic storytelling. Knowledge of on-set wardrobe assistance , including handling basic styling adjustments and wardrobe continuity .
