Key Responsibilities: 1. Inspection & Testing Perform dimensional and visual inspections of castings, cores, and molds. Conduct metallurgical, mechanical, and chemical testing (e.g., hardness, tensile strength, microstructure, spectrometer analysis). Inspect incoming raw materials such as sand, scrap, ferroalloys, and binders. Verify compliance with technical drawings, standards, and customer specifications. 2. Process Control Monitor critical process parameters (e.g., melting temperature, pouring temperature, mold moisture, sand quality). Maintain quality checkpoints at each stage of the foundry process (pattern shop, molding, melting, fettling, machining). Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and root cause analysis for defect reduction. 3. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions Identify and record non-conforming products or processes. Conduct root cause analysis for casting defects such as porosity, shrinkage, inclusions, or surface defects. Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Liaise with production teams to ensure timely resolution of quality issues. 4. Documentation & Reporting Maintain inspection reports, quality records, and test certificates. Prepare and update control plans, process flow diagrams, and inspection standards. Support internal and external quality audits (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, customer audits). 5. Continuous Improvement Participate in quality improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma projects. Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs).
