We are seeking a Founding Hardware Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of our embedded hardware systems. In this role, you will work across IoT, RF, motor control, and industrial-grade electronics to build reliable, scalable hardware for real-world deployment. Success in this role looks like: Delivering high-quality hardware from concept to production Making strong architectural decisions for long-term product scalability Collaborating with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams Building efficient, cost-optimized, and rugged designs suitable for high-volume manufacture As an early team member, you will play a critical role in shaping our hardware direction and influencing the technical foundation of the company. Responsibilities Lead end-to-end hardware development: requirements, schematics, PCB layout, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support. Architect embedded systems using MCUs/SoCs (nRF52/nRF53, STM32, ESP32, NXP, TI). Determine hardware requirements and develop reliable, manufacturable solutions for products in production. Design and tune RF systems including BLE, Wi-Fi, and 2.4 GHz radios; perform antenna matching and range optimization. Integrate UWB modules for precision ranging and wireless positioning. Design BLDC motor driver circuits, MOSFET stages, current sensing, and safety systems. Work on low-power and battery-powered designs (Li-ion/LiFePO4). Build efficient power architectures, DC-DC converters, filtering, and EMI/EMC mitigation. Develop hardware suitable for outdoor/industrial environments (IP-rated enclosures, thermal robustness, shock/vibration). Support CE/FCC certification and ensure EMC/EMI compliance. Lead board bring-up, debugging, RF validation, and performance testing. Build test jigs, fixtures, and contribute to production QA processes. Collaborate with manufacturers on DFM/DFT, yield improvements, and production line setup. Qualifications 3–4 years of experience in embedded hardware engineering. Strong understanding of RF design, antennas, matching networks, and EMI/EMC principles. Experience designing motor control systems (BLDC drivers, sensing, safety). Proficiency in PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad, or OrCAD. Hands-on experience with test and measurement tools (oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers). Ability to analyze hardware problems, debug efficiently, and deliver reliable solutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and collaborate across teams. Experience bringing hardware products from prototype to production (preferred but not required).
