Job Title: Gate Operations Supervisor Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Gate Operations Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient handling of gate procedures for inbound and outbound container traffic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), gate checks, and controls, while also monitoring key operational activities at the gate. Key Responsibilities: Ensure strict adherence to gate SOPs and controls related to the movement of daily inbound and outbound container traffic. Conduct gate entry quality control (QC) checks upon arrival and dispatch, including seal verification, survey coordination, and damage reporting. Work closely with surveyors to prepare damage estimates for both inbound and outbound laden/empty containers. Physically verify container details upon arrival at the ICD, including information such as container size, type, seal number, gross weight, trailer number, and scanning data from port EIR copies. Perform weighment of containers and ensure delivery release based on valid Gate pass copies, LEO, or OOC documents. Optimize gate transaction time and maintain turnaround time (TAT) records for import, export, and empty container movements in the system. Conduct daily toolbox talks to ensure operational goals are met and safety standards are upheld. Track and monitor LR generation and submission for all transportation legs. Meet and exceed gate operational KPIs for performance evaluation and continuous improvement. Follow up on yearly weighbridge calibration and certification to ensure customs compliance. Collaborate with gate security teams to ensure accurate updates in security registers at both the ingate and outgate, in compliance with regulations. Maintain up-to-date records of gate operations in the system, including filing and documenting all relevant gate-related entries. Ensure compliance with KSH core values, and adhere to quality, health, safety, environment, and supply chain security management systems based on AEO/CTPAT/Customs HCCAR2009 guidelines. Implement and manage smart gate/yard systems to enhance operations and improve gate operational efficiency. Serve as the on-scene commander in case of safety or security emergencies, ensuring quick response and resolution. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of gate procedures, container handling, and relevant customs regulations. Proven ability to manage and optimize gate operations and reduce transaction times. Experience in managing operational KPIs and maintaining compliance with safety and security standards. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with security, surveyors, and other stakeholders. Knowledge of smart gate/yard technology and system implementation is a plus.
