Job Summary:The Network Engineer and Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting an organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and reliability of LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and Internet connectivity across all sites and data centers. Key Responsibilities:Network Design & ImplementationPlan, design, and deploy enterprise-level network solutions (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and VPN). Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring tools. Implement and manage VLANs, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), and QoS for optimized network performance. Network Administration & MaintenanceMonitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios and resolve bottlenecks proactively. Maintain IP addressing schemes, DNS, DHCP, and network access control systems. Perform firmware and OS updates on network devices as per security guidelines. Manage backup, recovery, and documentation of network configurations. Security ManagementAdminister and maintain firewall policies (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Sophos, Cisco ASA, etc.). Manage and monitor VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint security. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices and organizational security policies. Troubleshooting & SupportDiagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly. Provide 2nd and 3rd level network support for escalations from the IT helpdesk. Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and OEMs for uptime and SLA management. Documentation & ReportingMaintain updated network topology diagrams, device inventory, and access logs. Prepare reports on bandwidth utilization, incident response, and network uptime. Create and maintain SOPs for network change management and escalation. Required Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Mikrotik, or equivalent technologies. Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and network protocols. Experience with VPN (IPSec, SSL), wireless controllers, and VoIP infrastructure. Familiarity with virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud networking (AWS, Azure). Preferred Certifications (Any of the following):Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) / Professional (CCNP) Fortinet NSE Level 4 or above CompTIA Network+ / Security+ Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) AWS Certified Advanced Networking / Azure Network Engineer Associate Key Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
