Furniture/Millwork Draftsman

As a Furniture Draftsman at Outlier Studio, you will play a crucial role in our premium furniture and interior design projects. Your primary responsibility will involve creating detailed technical drawings for custom furniture pieces using software such as AutoCAD and SketchUp. Working closely with our design team, you will translate design concepts into manufacturable technical drawings and ensure the accurate execution of furniture designs by collaborating with production teams. Your keen attention to detail will be essential as you revise and update drawings based on feedback to ensure all technical documentation meets quality, safety, and material specifications. To excel in this role, you must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in furniture drafting, preferably with a premium or custom furniture brand. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software is a must, along with a solid understanding of furniture construction, materials, joinery, and production processes. Your ability to interpret design briefs, visualize concepts in both 2D and 3D, and work effectively under tight deadlines will be critical for success. Strong communication and team collaboration skills are key as you work with various stakeholders to bring designs to life. While not mandatory, experience working with high-end residential projects would be advantageous. Knowledge of CNC, modular detailing, or woodworking joinery, as well as a basic understanding of materials like wood, veneer, laminate, glass, and metal, would also be beneficial for this role.
