Job Title: AI Engineer – Conversational AIExperience: 3+ YearsLocation: RemoteEmployment Type: Full-timeAbout the Role We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer with a strong background in building production-grade conversational AI agents . The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of AI agent development—from prompt and model orchestration to low-latency, real-time voice and text interactions. You will work on designing, developing, and optimizing conversational systems that leverage modern LLMs/SLMs , tool calling, and speech pipelines, while ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain conversational AI agents for real-world use cases (chat and voice). Develop backend AI services using Python , including agent logic, orchestration, and integrations. Build and integrate frontend interfaces using Next.js for conversational experiences. Implement and manage TTS (Text-to-Speech) and STT (Speech-to-Text) pipelines. Design and implement function calls, tool calls, and agent workflows with LLMs. Optimize systems for performance, latency, and scalability , especially in real-time conversations. Work with GenAI models (LLMs and SLMs) , selecting the right model for cost, latency, and accuracy. Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ship production-ready AI features. Debug, monitor, and improve conversational quality and system reliability in live environments. Required Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience building and deploying conversational AI systems . Strong proficiency in Python for AI and backend development. Solid experience with Next.js for frontend integration. Hands-on experience with: TTS / STT protocols and services Function calling and tool calling in LLM-based systems Multi-step agent workflows and state management Deep understanding of performance, latency, and real-time constraints in AI systems. Strong experience working with Generative AI models , including: Large Language Models (LLMs) Small Language Models (SLMs) Prompting, orchestration, and evaluation Experience deploying AI systems in production environments . Good to Have (Bonus Skills) Experience with React Native for mobile AI experiences. Experience integrating AI systems into React-based applications. Familiarity with streaming audio pipelines and real-time communication. Experience with model evaluation, logging, and observability for AI agents.
