As an Animator at Ubisoft Mumbai, you will be responsible for creating high-quality animation using both Motion Capture and Keyframe techniques. Your role will involve collaborating with Animation Supervisor, Realization Director, Narration and Cinematic Designers, as well as other animators within the studio and across different Ubisoft studios globally. Your responsibilities will include prototyping and working with keyframe and motion capture data, creating animations of characters (body and facial), cameras, and objects, and understanding the capabilities of the engine to ensure the appearance of animations in the game. You will also be required to maintain regular communication with various team members such as Cinematic Designers, Character Artists, Scripters, FX Artist, Props Artist, Lighting Artist, and Sound Designer to deliver high-quality scenes. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Animation/Art or equivalent, along with 4-6 years of experience in videogame animation or a related field. Proficiency in animation software like Motion Builder, 3ds Max, or Maya is essential. A strong understanding of realistic character movement, facial expressions, film language, and cinematography is also required. Moreover, expertise in keyframe animation and experience with motion capture are crucial for this position. It is important that you can collaborate effectively with project stakeholders, have a noticeable demo reel showcasing your best work, and possess a proactive attitude with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Prior experience with a full game development cycle, knowledge of version control tools and project management systems, as well as familiarity with commercial game engines, will be advantageous.
