Anesthesia Management : Administer anesthesia and sedation to patients undergoing cardiac surgery, including open - heart procedures, heart transplantations, and other complex cardiac interventions. Monitor patients' vital signs, anesthesia depth, and fluid balance during surgeries to ensure their safety and stability. Adjust anesthesia levels and medications as necessary to maintain patient stability and comfort during surgery. Critical Care Management : Lead the management and treatment of critically ill patients with cardiac conditions in the intensive care unit. Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' conditions, interpret diagnostic data, and create individualized treatment plans. Administer and manage life support measures, including mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and advanced cardiovascular support. Postoperative Care : Oversee the postoperative recovery of cardiac surgery patients, ensuring their smooth transition to the intensive care unit or cardiac recovery unit. Collaborate with the surgical team and other specialists to manage postoperative complications effectively. Team Collaboration : Work closely with cardiac surgeons, perfusionists, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care. Participate actively in medical rounds, case discussions, and multidisciplinary meetings to review patient progress and make informed decisions. Research and Continuous Learning : Stay up - to - date with the latest advancements in cardiac anesthesia and critical care through continuous medical education and research. Participate in research projects, clinical trials, and academic activities to contribute to the advancement of the field. Teaching and Training : Mentor and supervise resident doctors, fellows, and medical students in cardiac anesthesia and critical care. Conduct educational sessions and workshops for medical staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
