As an Assistant Editor , you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our publishing programme—discovering outstanding ideas, securing talented authors and working closely with marketing and sales to ensure our books achieve commercial success. You’ll conduct market research, build lasting author relationships and collaborate across teams to bring engaging, high-quality books to life. Content Acquisition Acquire and develop top-tier books and digital products that align with our publishing strategy. Stay ahead of market trends, understand the competitive landscape and identify content gaps and opportunities. Contribute to our publishing roadmap by developing strong business cases for new titles, including sales projections and cost analyses. Author Management Build and nurture relationships with authors, academics and industry experts. Serve as the primary point of contact for authors, guiding them through the publishing process. Negotiate contracts with authors and subject matter experts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements. Collaborate with authors to refine content, ensuring alignment with market needs and editorial standards. Marketing and Sales Collaboration Work closely with sales and marketing teams to align products with commercial objectives. Develop compelling book positioning, key selling points and promotional materials. Attend industry events, conferences and book fairs—championing our products and expanding our network.
