Job Description

Our client, one of the United States" largest insurers, is seeking a Duck Creek Developer to join their team. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying system functionality. As an Agile Dev Team Member II, you will primarily focus on development tasks, ensuring technical feasibility using basic coding methods and adhering to coding standards. You will work collaboratively with senior developers and architects to ensure high-quality code and components that can be easily modified to support future requirements. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that the end product meets business acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements through testing activities. In this role, you will demonstrate an understanding of customer needs by interpreting requirements and providing input into system design. You will write and refine user stories, including clear and accurate acceptance criteria, and perform detailed impact assessments to estimate user stories using relative sizing. As part of the Agile development process, you will engage in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) to build quality into the code. You will also document and implement programs according to standards, conduct quality checks, and deliver working code each sprint. For Agile Dev Team Members II with a testing discipline, you will analyze system and business requirements for testability, develop test cases and test data, and report on test plan execution through defect logs. You will also contribute to the overall test strategy and participate in key ceremonies to drive execution and improve flow. Furthermore, you will actively participate in Agile ceremonies such as Program Increment (PI) Planning, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospectives, and Inspect & Adapt sessions. You will collaborate with Product and Business Owners, support the Product Owner during iteration and PI System Demos, and seek continuous improvement opportunities.
