Role Summary:

We are looking for a Professional Conference Sales Head to lead and grow Stage 3's conference business. You will own conference sales from start to finish: finding new opportunities, winning clients, selling sponsorships and delegate registrations, and building the relationships that bring repeat business.

The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader in the conference or events industry who understands how large conferences are run, works directly with clients, and can build and guide a sales team towards clear revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities Sales, Strategy & Revenue:

• Develop and execute the conference sales strategy to meet monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets
• Identify new markets, sectors and conference opportunities for Stage 3
• Forecast sales, track pipeline performance and report results to management

Business Development:

• Win new conference mandates from medical and professional associations, institutions, corporates and government bodies
• Prepare and present proposals, quotations and pitches to prospective clients
• Negotiate commercial terms and close high-value deals
• Represent Stage 3 at industry events, trade shows and networking forums

Sponsorship & Delegate Sales:

• Lead the sale of sponsorships, exhibition space and partnership packages for conferences
• Drive delegate registrations through direct sales and targeted outreach
• Build relationships with sponsors and exhibitors to secure repeat participation

Client Relationships:

• Act as the senior point of contact for key clients from the first meeting through to post-event review
• Understand client goals and work with the operations team to turn them into clear conference plans
• Build long-term relationships that lead to repeat business and referrals

Team Leadership & Coordination:

• Build, guide and motivate the conference sales team and set clear targets
• Work closely with the conference operations, creative and digital marketing teams so that what is sold is delivered well
• Shape sales-focused marketing campaigns and collateral with the marketing team

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in conference, event or MICE sales
• Proven experience selling large-scale conferences, sponsorships or delegate packages
• A consistent track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
• Experience leading or mentoring a sales team
• Good understanding of how large conferences are planned and delivered
• Fluent English, spoken and written, with strong presentation and negotiation skills
• Must currently reside in Chennai and be able to commute to the office daily
• Confident in direct client interaction at a senior level
• A team player who works well with operations, creative and marketing teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, Hospitality or a related field (MBA is a plus)
• Sales experience at a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) or event agency
• An existing network of association, institutional, healthcare or corporate clients
• Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting
• Knowledge of Tamil or another regional language
