As a pivotal member of our team at Colt, you will play a crucial role in shaping our data landscape and driving innovation through effective data management practices. Your primary responsibilities will include leading a team of skilled data architects, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and defining the strategic direction for data initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include: Data Strategy Development: - Developing and articulating a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization's vision, mission, and long-term goals. - Collaborating with senior leadership, including the Chief Data Officer (CDO), to define data-related priorities and roadmaps. - Facilitating business and IT alignment through a collaborative, supportive, and consultative approach. - Leading the analysis of business and operating models, market trends, and the technology industry to guide technology investment decisions. Data Architecture Leadership: - Owning and driving the future state data architecture to ensure scalability, flexibility, and adherence to industry best practices. - Establishing and maintaining data architecture standards, guidelines, and principles across the organization. - Working closely with technology teams to implement architectural changes and enhancements. Data Modeling and Design: - Ensuring high-quality and consistent data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical). - Leading the development and maintenance of logical data models (LDMs) and associated physical models. - Collaborating with development teams to ensure adherence to architectural and modeling standards. Stakeholder Engagement: - Partnering with the Data Management team to drive the group's data strategy. - Collaborating with business units to extract greater value from data assets. - Engaging with key stakeholders to identify technical opportunities for enhancing data product delivery. - Providing consultative advice to business leaders with actionable recommendations. Team Leadership: - Building and leading a federated team of Data Architects within the function and across the organization. - Guiding and mentoring team members to foster a culture of excellence and continuous learning. Quality Assurance: - Ensuring the quality of data designs proposed by the team. - Upholding data management principles and best practices. Future-Proofing: - Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to data management. - Contributing to the organization's data architecture vision. - Facilitating innovation through technology-enabled opportunities. Qualifications and Skills: - Masters or bachelor's degree in relevant fields or equivalent experience. - Ten or more years of experience in data architecture. - Certifications in TOGAF, Certified Architect (CA), Zachmann, SAFE Agile. - Proficiency in various data management tools and technologies.
