You will be responsible for providing sectional rehearsals and individual training sessions for band students. Your role will involve assisting in teaching students correct instrument technique, tone production, rhythm, intonation, and ensemble performance. Additionally, you will support the band director in organizing and conducting full band rehearsals. You will play a vital role in preparing students for concerts, parades, marching band events, and competitions. Moreover, you will be expected to assist with music selection, drill design (for marching band if applicable), and instrument maintenance. To excel in this role, you should have proficiency in at least one band instrument, preferably multiple. Prior experience working with school bands or in a music education setting will be advantageous. A strong understanding of band pedagogy and ensemble leadership is essential. Experience with marching band instruction and drill design, if applicable, will be beneficial. Your ability to effectively manage and inspire groups of students with varying skill levels will be crucial to your success.
