The Telematics Solution role at HARMAN requires reporting to the Engineering organization and involves conducting research and delivering software solutions and Proof of Concepts (POCs) for automotive embedded devices that cater to both consumer and automotive-grade products. Telematics, a crucial technology for connected cars and autonomous driving, encompasses LTE modems, network access devices (NADs), wireless standards like BT/WiFi, GNSS, NFC, and other rapidly evolving areas. HARMAN collaborates with leading suppliers to design telematics solutions that ensure a comprehensive, secure, and enjoyable in-car experience. As a vital member of an agile team, you will focus on researching and developing software for telematics devices using state-of-the-art technologies and features such as communication, networking, and positioning. Your role involves leading initiatives to enable new business opportunities in the Telematics domain, showcasing high-visibility demos, and spearheading efforts to bring products and solutions to the market. Key responsibilities include design verification, testing, debugging, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of defects. Key Responsibilities: - Engage as an individual contributor in software/firmware design and development for the V2X and MEC domains within embedded platform products. - Assume technical ownership to ensure comprehensive design of scalable and reusable software components, addressing critical technical issues hands-on. - Develop reliable, maintainable automotive-grade Linux applications for V2X devices in alignment with industry standards on embedded platforms. - Translate business requirements into agile entities for planning and execution, while possessing the interpersonal skills to drive discussions, negotiate, and reach timely agreements within the team and with customers. - Independently lead requirements discussions with customers, manage technical delivery dependencies with internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate with System and Software architects. To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications: - Master's/bachelor's degree in electrical, communications, computer engineering, or a related discipline. - 6 to 12 years of experience in software development, particularly in embedded practices using C++ and C, with a strong foundation in OOPS concepts, software architecture, and design. - Proficiency in C++ programming, Linux Embedded Systems, Linux Systems Programming, and multithreaded applications. - Prior experience in direct customer engagement for requirement analysis, scoping, and resolution of technical issues. - Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams, coupled with a broad technical background in cellular and network technology, software architectures, and automotive-grade products. - Familiarity with software architecture tools like Enterprise Architect, version control systems such as GIT, and unit test automation tools. Moreover, candidates with hands-on experience in embedded software testing for Automotive Products, V2X Technologies, Vehicle Security, Telematics, Data Communication, or Vector CANoe are highly desirable. The ability to travel up to 10%, exhibit technical leadership, and demonstrate proficiency in test methodologies, embedded systems, and automotive standards are also essential.
