Engineer I - Data Scientist

Collaboration within an agile methodology and across various functions will be key to success. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop Statistical/Machine Learning models/analysis for Merchandising and Planning Business problems - Play a key role in all stages of the Data science project life cycle - Collaborate with Product Management and Business teams to gain Business understanding and collect requirements - Identify necessary data sources and automate the collection process - Conduct pre-processing and exploratory data analysis - Evaluate and interpret results, presenting findings to stakeholders and business leaders - Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to deploy models into production systems when applicable **Qualifications and Skills:** - Demonstrated experience in delivering technical solutions using Time Series/Machine Learning techniques - Proficient in applied Statistical skills, including familiarity with Statistical tests, distributions, etc. - Strong expertise in applied Machine Learning skills such as Time Series, Regression Analysis, Supervised and Unsupervised Learning - Proficient Programming Skills in Python and database query languages like SQL, with additional familiarity with Snowflake & Databricks being advantageous - Experience with time series forecasting techniques like ARIMA, Prophet, Deep AR - Familiarity with data visualization libraries such as Plotly, Business intelligence tools like PowerBI, Tableau - Excellent communication and presentation abilities - Previous experience in the Retail industry In this role, you will be responsible for identifying valuable data sources, automating collection processes, preprocessing structured and unstructured data, analyzing large datasets, developing predictive models, and employing ensemble modeling techniques.
