The Sales Officer will be responsible for managing day-to-day sales operations, handling channel sales, generating leads, and providing excellent customer service. A: General Develop new sweetener products and blends (natural, plant-based, and functional) tailored to market needs. Formulate for applications across beverages, bakery, confectionery, and nutraceuticals. Ensure sensory parity and performance versus sugar and competitive sweeteners. Collaborate with ingredient suppliers to identify new technologies and sweetening systems. Strengthen the existing range through continuous improvement in taste, stability, and cost. Manage scale-up and commercialization from lab to plant, ensuring regulatory and process compliance. Drive reformulation and line extensions based on customer feedback and category trends. B. Institutional Business Support Partner with B2B and institutional sales teams to co-develop customized sweetener systems for key clients. Lead application trials and technical demonstrations for industrial customers. Support cost optimization and performance improvement for food and beverage partners. C. Retail Business Support Develop differentiated consumer products and formats (powders, tablets, liquids, sachets). Collaborate with marketing for claims, sensory validation, and consumer insights translation. Support packaging, shelf-life studies, and sensory optimization for market success. Work closely with CFTs (Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and Marketing) teams to ensure alignment from concept to launch. Provide scientific backing for claims, communication, and brand narratives. Drive digital documentation and traceability in R&D workflows. Track emerging global trends in alternative sweeteners and natural sugar substitutes. Identify white spaces for IP creation, technology partnerships, and sustainable sourcing. Contribute to long-term sweetener strategy for organization’s food innovation roadmap. Experience: 10+ years’ experience in food ingredient or sweetener R&D, preferably with exposure to both B2B and retail product development. Education: PhD / M.Tech / M.Sc. in Food Science, Chemistry, or related discipline.
