Position : Safety Engineer / EHS Engineer (Manager Level) Location : kishangarh Department : Safety (EHS) Reports To : EHS Manager / Senior EHS Manager Job Summary: The Safety Engineer / EHS Engineer (Manager level) will be responsible for overseeing and managing safety initiatives within an Automation, Solar Glass Manufacturing, and Solar Module Manufacturing Plant. The role requires a strong background in industrial safety, with a focus on maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with EHS regulations, and implementing best practices in safety management across the plant. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 to 6 years of experience in an industrial setting and an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety . Key Responsibilities: Health, Safety, and Environmental Management: Implement and enforce safety protocols in compliance with industry standards (OSHA, ISO, etc.) and local regulations in Solar Glass Manufacturing, Solar Module Manufacturing, and Automation environments. Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analysis, identifying potential safety risks related to automation processes, glass production, and solar module assembly lines. Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures that align with best practices in industrial safety and environmental compliance. Workplace Safety and Risk Management: Manage and enforce safety standards on-site, ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of all employees, contractors, and visitors. Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Lead investigations into safety incidents, near-misses, and accidents. Ensure root cause analysis is completed and corrective actions are implemented. Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, focusing on safe work practices, machine operation safety, PPE use, and emergency response. Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensure that all required safety and environmental documentation is prepared and submitted in a timely manner (e.g., OSHA reports, environmental permits, and audits). Liaise with local and regional authorities to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations and standards. Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and environmental laws to ensure the plant remains in compliance. Emergency Preparedness and Response: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire safety, chemical spills, first aid, and other workplace emergencies specific to the manufacturing and automation environment. Organize and conduct emergency drills, ensuring employees are well-prepared for any workplace emergencies. Ensure that all emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, eyewash stations, etc.) is properly maintained and accessible. EHS Data Management and Reporting: Track and report key safety metrics (incident rates, near-miss reports, lost-time injury frequency, etc.) and identify trends or areas for improvement. Prepare monthly and quarterly EHS reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and safety performance. Maintain EHS records and databases, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible. Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement in safety practices, encouraging feedback from employees at all levels. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, quality control) to identify opportunities for improving safety in the manufacturing process. Lead initiatives to reduce workplace accidents, improve ergonomic standards, and promote a proactive approach to safety in the plant. Environmental Sustainability: Assist in the development and implementation of environmental management programs, such as waste reduction, energy efficiency, and water conservation, particularly in the context of solar manufacturing. Ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials used in the production processes, including chemicals, solvents, and glass shards. Qualifications & Skills: Education : Qualification Required : ADIS( Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety)/Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety (PDIS) + Post Graduation in Env. Management + Certification in ISO 45001, ISO 14001, Graduate in Engineering stream (Electrical). Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety or similar qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). A Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field is a plus. Experience : At least 1 to 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment , particularly within solar glass manufacturing, solar module manufacturing , or automation industries. Experience in managing safety programs, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations. Familiarity with automation systems , solar module production processes , and solar glass manufacturing is highly desirable Skills : In-depth knowledge of industrial safety standards, risk management techniques, and environmental laws and regulations. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to investigate and resolve safety incidents. Ability to deliver safety training to diverse groups of employees. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey safety information and procedures. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive safety culture at all levels of the organization. Preferred Skills: Experience in automation or robotics integration within manufacturing environments. Knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) or ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems). Familiarity with the solar manufacturing industry , including equipment, processes, and safety hazards specific to solar glass and solar modules. Experience in data analysis and safety reporting systems (e.g., tracking metrics, incident databases). Working Conditions: Work in a manufacturing environment , which may include exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Availability to be on-site and respond to emergencies as needed
