EEG Technician

Job Description

Responsibilities Performs diagnostic tests such as EEGs and NCS by preparing equipment, applying electrodes, and ensuring proper calibration. Ensures quality data collection by monitoring the results and adjusting equipment settings as needed during tests. Maintains equipment by performing regular calibrations, conducting preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting breakdowns. Prepares patients by explaining the procedures, ensuring comfort, and addressing any concerns. Ensures patient safety and compliance with infection control protocols by sterilizing equipment and maintaining a clean work environment. Documents and maintains records of test results and equipment maintenance. Provides training to other healthcare staff on the use of EEG and NCS equipment. Keeps patient information confidential in accordance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations. Maintains inventory of equipment supplies by tracking stock, placing orders, and verifying deliveries. Updates job skills and knowledge by attending educational programs, reading professional publications, and engaging in continuous learning opportunities. Contributes to a safe working environment by following safety standards, performing safety tests, and educating staff on safe practices.
