Job Title: Marketing Executive – Pharma Intermediates & API Sales & Sourcing Job Summary We are looking for an energetic and knowledgeable Marketing Executive with hands-on experience in pharmaceutical intermediates marketing and API sourcing & sales . The candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling our in-house manufactured intermediates, developing new business opportunities, and sourcing high-quality APIs from reputed manufacturers for domestic and export customers. This role requires a blend of technical understanding , market knowledge , sales acumen , and vendor management capabilities. Key Responsibilities & Duties 1. Sales & Marketing of Pharma Intermediates Promote and sell company-manufactured pharmaceutical intermediates to existing and new customers in domestic and export markets. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve business growth and revenue targets. Identify potential customers through market research, networking, and industry references. Prepare and deliver technical presentations, quotations, and commercial proposals. Maintain strong business relationships with customers to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction. 2. API Sourcing & Trading Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable API manufacturers and suppliers (domestic and international). Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and quality standards with API suppliers. Coordinate with suppliers for documentation such as DMF, COA, MSDS, and other regulatory dossiers. Maintain and update a database of qualified API vendors. Ensure timely procurement of APIs based on market demand and customer requirements. Manage trading activities by balancing purchase and sales transactions effectively. 3. Business Development & Market Intelligence Conduct regular market research to identify new molecules, therapeutic trends, and pricing fluctuations. Analyze competitor activities and propose strategies to maintain market competitiveness. Explore new geographies and customers to expand company’s business footprint. Attend trade fairs, exhibitions, and business conferences to network with industry professionals. 4. Client & Vendor Relationship Management Build and nurture long-term relationships with key customers and suppliers. Serve as the main point of contact between customers and internal departments (production, QA/QC, logistics). Provide accurate and timely responses to client inquiries and technical queries. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and service. 5. Documentation & Coordination Work with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing, dispatch, and delivery. Coordinate with QA/QC for product documentation, technical data sheets, COAs, and compliance records. Maintain systematic records of inquiries, quotations, purchase orders, and sales reports. 6. Reporting & Administration Prepare and submit regular sales, sourcing, and market reports to management. Track performance metrics including sales achievements, sourcing cost savings, and customer satisfaction. Support management in developing pricing strategies and product portfolio decisions. Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering , or related discipline. MBA in Marketing, International Business, or Supply Chain preferred. Experience: 3–8 years of experience in API marketing/sourcing and pharma intermediates sales . Proven track record of business development in domestic or international pharma markets. Experience in vendor development, sourcing negotiations, and dealing with regulatory documentation. Familiarity with regulated, semi-regulated, and non-regulated markets . Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of APIs and intermediates chemistry, product applications, and market trends. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills. Proficiency in MS Office, CRM, and ERP systems. Analytical mindset with the ability to identify new opportunities and manage costs effectively. Self-motivated and target-oriented professional. Willingness to travel extensively for business meetings and exhibitions. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Achievement of sales and sourcing targets. Growth in customer and supplier base.
