This includes using a reservation system, handling walk-ins, and managing waitlists accurately. Operational Flow: Maintain a clear understanding of the dining room's status, including table availability and the pace of service. Communicate effectively with the kitchen, servers, and management to ensure a smooth and continuous flow of service, preventing any bottlenecks. Customer Service Excellence: Act as a first-line resource for guest inquiries, special requests, and any initial feedback. Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Administrative Support: Assist with administrative duties, such as answering phone calls, organizing menus, and maintaining the cleanliness and order of the host stand and entrance area. Prepare for service by ensuring all necessary tools and information are available for the shift. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the entire restaurant team to support a positive and productive work environment. Assist other staff members as needed to ensure all guests receive timely and attentive service.
Prepare and make pizza dough, sauces, and various toppings from scratch or according to established recipes. Chop vegetables, slice meats, and grate cheese. Stretch, toss, and prepare pizza bases to the correct size and thickness. Assemble pizzas with sauces, cheeses, and toppings based on menu items or custom orders. Monitor and adjust oven temperatures and cooking times to ensure pizzas are baked to perfection. Cook other menu items, such as appetizers (e.g., mozzarella sticks, garlic bread) or salads. Package finished pizzas for takeout or delivery. Kitchen Operations and Maintenance: Operate and maintain a variety of kitchen equipment, including pizza ovens, grills, and mixers. Adhere to all sanitation and food safety regulations, ensuring a clean and hygienic workstation at all times. Clean and sterilize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces. Monitor food stock and inventory, and place orders for supplies as needed. Dispose of expired or spoiled ingredients. Customer Service and Teamwork: Take customer orders, both in person and over the phone. Provide excellent customer service, including addressing customer feedback and resolving complaints. Work collaboratively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations. Communicate effectively with managers and team members. Other Duties: Work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders simultaneously. Be able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy items (e.g., bags of flour, boxes of ingredients). Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Assist with the development of new recipes or menu items.
