DevOps Application Engineer

As an experienced professional with 6 to 10+ years of work experience, you will be responsible for monitoring and reacting to alerts in real-time, triaging issues, and executing runbook instructions to resolve routine problems and user requests. In case of complex or unresolved issues, you will escalate them to L2. Your role will also involve documenting new findings to enhance runbooks and the knowledge base, participating in shift handovers to ensure seamless coverage, and attending ceremonies to share operational status. To qualify for this role, you should hold a B.E in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent technical degree with strong computer science fundamentals. Experience in an Agile software development environment is required, along with excellent communication and collaboration skills to thrive in a team-oriented setting. Your technical skills will be put to the test, as you will need proficiency in System Administration for basic troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational support. Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and IAM is essential. Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar ones is expected. Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines using tools like Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Linux Fundamentals including command-line proficiency, scripting, and process management is crucial. While knowledge of Python, SQL, and Spark is preferred, it is not mandatory. Awareness of Data Engineering concepts like data pipelines, ETL processes, and workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow) is beneficial, along with familiarity with DevOps Practices such as observability, logging, alerting, and automation. In addition to technical expertise, you should possess strong communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly to different audiences, excel in collaboration and teamwork with engineering, operations, and business teams, exhibit problem-solving abilities with a logical thinking and troubleshooting mindset, and actively contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing by enhancing runbooks and operational guides.
